An exhibition and a catalogue, but not a real, printed one, but online, an e-catalogue, an e-exhibition. After all, the name Regional Digitisation Workshop obliges. Making the monuments which are usually kept in museums such as Frombork, Olsztyn, Elbląg or Kętrzyn available on the Internet, scanning, processing, editing and uploading them to the website is the main task of the Workshop. This time, the protagonist of the digitisation activities was Nicolaus Copernicus and the times in which he lived.
550 years ago, the eminent scientist - astronomer, doctor, lawyer, cartographer, economist - was born. A man of the Renaissance. Nicolaus Copernicus. He lived for 70 years and in that time managed to move the ministries of the world of his time. Also in the literal sense. Setting the earth in motion was such a revolution that Copernicus' life work was censored and went on the Index of Forbidden Books. This year we are remembering the person of Nicolaus Copernicus, emphasising how much he did for world science but also for Warmia, where he spent more than 40 years of his life.
- During our numerous digitisation trips, we have managed to digitise artefacts associated with Nicolaus Copernicus, the era in which he lived and the places where he stayed - says Hanna Laska-Kleinszmidt, head of the Regional Digitisation Workshop. - We would like to present these artefacts in a virtual form, accessible to anyone with access to the Internet.
"In the time of Copernicus" is an online catalogue, which can be viewed on the cyfrowewm.pl website. It shows objects directly or indirectly related to Nicolaus Copernicus with their descriptions and a link to a broader presentation on the website.

The multimedia exhibition "550 years of Nicolaus Copernicus" is a presentation of digitised artefacts from our region associated with the astronomer, but not only. It is also documents relating to Copernicus and the reception of his person. It brings together resources available in the public domain, systematised and displayed in the form of an exhibition. We can walk around it like a real exhibition, stopping at a place that arouses our interest and looking at the monument, reading the information, that is available about it.
