DKF: "The Night of the 12th" on Thursday

The A. Munk Film Discussion Club invites you to the new film by French director Dominic Moll. The thriller "The Night of the 12th" will be screened this Thursday (27 April) at 7 p.m. at the Światowid Cinema in Elbląg.

In his new film, Dominik Moll reveals the behind-the-scenes work of a criminal department. Although the story is told in the form of a gripping thriller, it seems that a detailed portrait of a male-dominated world in which there is no room for weaknesses is more important here than solving the crime mystery.

Sooner or later, every police investigator comes across a case that he cannot solve and it becomes a kind of unhealthy obsession for him. For Yohan, newly appointed head of Grenoble's crime department, it may well be the mysterious murder of a young girl named Clara, which has just occurred in the area under his jurisdiction.

Traces at the crime scene tell little about either the potential attacker or his motive. Routine police work begins, a prelude to a further complex investigation. As new suspects are questioned by Yohan, the picture of the case only darkens, raising further doubts for the police officer. Especially as the man finds it increasingly difficult to keep a proper distance from the investigation he has undertaken.

Helplessness mixes with frustration when, despite his hard work, the only certain information remains that the tragic event occurred on the night of 12 October.
